Cottonwood Springs Farm is a 250 acre family owned and operated Hereford cattle operation. It is located in Northern Michigan, twenty miles northwest of Traverse City in beautiful Leelanau County. We purchased the farm and its first cattle in 1982. Cottonwood Springs Farm has been and will continue to be a nationally recognized registered seed stock operation focusing on a small group of highly cultivated, very special females that are greatly influenced by Sooner genetics. Sooner is proving to be one of the greatest breeding bulls of our time and Cottonwood Springs Farm was lucky to be in on the ground floor of building maternal magic from this linage. We are using cutting edge technology such as IVF oocyte production and reverse sorting for heifers to further propagate our great Sooner donors. We will be offering many ET heifer calves born sired by Sooner, Outcross, About Time, Excel8051, Crackerjack, Nitro Aventus, as well as other popular bulls.
The day to day marketing of Cottonwood Springs Farm genetics, cattle, embryos, semen, etc. is now being handled primarily by Ray Ramsey, in Greenfield Indiana. We encourage you to contact him or stop by to see what new and exciting progeny is available.
At the farm here in Cedar, we are focusing on Leelanau Natural Beef, our home grown, grass-fed, hormone and antibiotic free product which we began producing in 2005. Farm operations are now being managed by Kary Pleva
